    Dyna-Gro Experiment

I initially was thinking deficiency because I was also experiencing yellowing of the lower leaves as well. But the tips were pretty burnt on some though so I was a little thrown. Really didn't think I was feeding enough to get nute burn so I wasn't sure which direction to go. The heat...

    Dyna-Gro Experiment

Thanks brother. I wasn't even looking in that direction but, looking back, it makes sense. Temps are a little high and when I first transferred them over I wasn't flooding deep enough, damaging top roots and bottom leaves began to yellow and fall. Then I went deeper floods and more frequently...

    Dyna-Gro Experiment

Hey @homebrewer what do you think? Nute burn or... Potassium deficiency? Had a few that got a little tip burn a little while back, but nothing much. Now there is more tip burn and also on the edges of the leaves now as well. Classic nute burn or what?

Need to upgrade lights , help pls

I've wondered about this myself. I have mine set-up so almost everything is off during "peak hours" which is 1pm-6pm so there is little draw on the meter but then at 6 we're pullin amps lol. It helps that it is in the evening and it is getting dark sooner but I still wonder if they look for...

    Best system for SOG?

If everything were perfect, than I would guess areo would probably grow the fastest/yield the heaviest. But my point is if everything isn't perfect you'll wish you'd gone a simpler route as both growth and overall yield will suffer greatly compared to other systems. Plus setting up and dialing...

    Hydroton Alternatives...?

Grow Stones work really well but, in my experience, are a bit of a pain do to the sediment that seems to continuously keep coming off of it. No matter how long I went I would always end up with sediment in my flood tables and reservoirs.

    watering everyday in coco????

It depends on the size of the pot they're in. The idea behind using coco in hydro is to keep it moist for two reasons. It keeps the salt build up down and keeps the roots from having to grow to search for water. Water frequently and you can use smaller pots. I use coco in flood and drain, feed...

    Rocking CMH 315w &1000w MH/HPS

My guess is they made a bunch of junk ballast that couldn't hold a consistent wave a would trash bulbs. Much like low quality, high frequency, digital ballast-can't hold a consistent wave at high frequencies and shortens bulb life and diminishes spectrum.

Yeah. He was wondering how they made the 860's with the wattage restrictions they appear to have with the square wave. I was basically saying they didn't. The 860 is sine wave.

Cool. So there is some proof to the square wave.

I thought the 860 uses magnetic ballast? So it would be sine wave also, not square. I think

I was going to ask if pictures taken under a 315 still have the lines? To me, that would be a real test to see if the square wave really is preventing "flicker"

    Dyna-Gro Experiment

Just an update. Picture quality sucks. Still feeding just the grow @ 1/2tsp per gallon with 1/4tsp calmag. Also installed new cmh bulbs. Still pluggin along with the dyna-gro. Anxious to see how these will turn out.

From what I've read they're still having issues with going above 400 watts? Something about THD (total harmonic distortion) idk? Square wave seems logical on paper but there are still arguments against it. I'm not that familiar with the technology myself though. I'm sure the 315's are badass...

A dozen 315's? Damn!! I like to go with more, lower wattage, lights but damn... you went crazy with it.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=philips allstart Yep. Amazon has just about everything. Scroll down the page. They even have 860's with mogul socket. Was going to get one but my old 1000watt hps would get too hot in my tents so I went with 2, might go...

    Rocking CMH 315w &1000w MH/HPS

Not that I'm aware of? They are made specifically for pulse start magnetic ballast as a "drop in", no mods, replacement/upgrade. Sounds like marketing to me. Philips just wants to make their product line proprietary. In theory, you could buy any square wave ballast or a square wave inverter...

@ttystikk check it out. We were talking about these bulbs a while back. Decided to go with 400(330) instead of the 860 for heat reasons. Oh yeah.

At what distance will a 400 watt mh/hps cause a plant to stretch

I usually hover in the 80-82 area. I don't get into checking canopy temps really, my thermo just sits about canopy height. I also use 400s. You will have to keep an eye on the leaves. Your plants will tell you if they are getting too hot. Some of mine are less than a foot away from the bulb and...
