I'm a patient and this thread has helped me tremendously. There's a lot to be learned here in many ways. I'm thankful that there are members here on RIU that took the time to stand up and educate. It's impressing! I'm not sure how long it would have taken me if I had waited to learn another...

O.K., that gives me an idea how strong it is. Thank you! I know that there are certain natural remedies if they have strong enough ingredients and applied to the skin, you can actually taste some of them. Best wishes in it working for you and your parents!

Pain usually a yes, asthma - slim chance. Asthma is not a condition considered for a med card. Pain is.

Do you think a battery operated soldering iron would work?

I've tried cedar to light before which was pretty tastey. I lit the cedar (just a sliver of the wood), with a stick match, let it burn for a bit then hit the water pipe. *I just did a quick search and saw that some use a "Hakko" or other brand of soldering iron to light with. A lot cheaper...
