Its really tough to vent 2 600w without having two air-sealed hoods, and a dedicated intake, coming from outside your house. Having your lamps isolated from the environment makes a huge difference. Thats how I had mine, until I went to led. I had a 6" fan keeping a 1k and 600w cool, and with...

Also, you'll want to extend your ducting to exhaust the air outside your attic. You'll get all sorts of humidity problems up there, like mold.

You'll need a much more robust fan, even for a single 600w. You should be looking at 6" fans around 400cfm. And, like mentioned, only add another 600w if you've got no problem keeping your space cool, with lots of headroom with your fan speeds. When you do get a better fan, get a fan speed...

    DWC bubbles question

I grow just 2 per tote. I think 6 would get pretty full, unless you were going for a sog/scrog

    4x4 light for $1,000

600w will produce fairly decent results in a 4x4, and is a great setup for someone just getting started. I'd say having a 1k in a 4x4 is for more experienced growers with the right equipment.

How many GPH for each DWC rez?

What he said ^^^^ I have a 70lpm commercial pump for my four plant sites, and my home recording studio is right across the hall. You can imgine how quiet I need things to be. With mine hung from nylon cords, its virtually silent. The trick is decoupling the pump from the floor or walls, so...

Exhaust fan is too small for a 600w. 600w is too small for the grow space. What would be an ideal setup is having 2, 600w lights/hoods, and around a 400cfm exhaust fan. Mount your fan outside the tent to help keep temps down, and use insulated ducting for the fan exhaust to help even more.

A couple essential tools you should have are an IR thermometer gun, and a lumins/lux meter. They are cheap online. With a Lumin Meter you'll be able to tell if your plant(s) are getting the right amount of light. With an IR Thermometer Gun you can get the correct temperature of the...

Something you'll have to get a hold of are the temps. If you have to keep your lights higher than normal to account for heat issues, your plants will stretch and be spindly.

Yeah, that's a tough question. Its going to take a little effort to get her back in shape, but she's going to suffer some stress and the end results may be less than stellar. On the other hand, its tough throwing out a plant you e spent time growing. If you're not starving for weed, you may...

    DWC bubbles question

Really, the "correct" amount of air is what's needed. Looks like you're within that range. With everything, too little or too much is usually not good. :)

I just skimmed over some of your notes, and thought I'd leave a helpful comment or two. In the future: Flip to flower when they are around 35cm tall Plants will double and triple in size during flower, so plan ahead Plants that have grown too tall will not allow you to get close enough to the...

    DWC bubbles question

Nah, the roots are just being pushed out of the way by the bubbles. Roots don't really go looking for calmer seas :) If you look at the pics of the inside of my tote, you'll see the roots spreading out from the plume of bubbles from directly under the net pots

BTW, have you thought about adding a tube to the intake, where you could supply fresh air from another room?

    DWC bubbles question

I'm wondering if its because you're growing in buckets, whereas I'm growing in 27 gallon totes. It might be because your roots didn't have the room to move out of the way. Mine are always sprawled out around the bubble plume.

Why such large netpots? You really only need 3" to 4" for dwc.
