    Leaf spot - identify

Have you checked your pH levels? Soil is more forgiving than hydro, when it comes to pH levels, but you can still have issues if it's way out of range. If the pH is out of whack, the plant won't be able to absorb and transport nutrients throughout themselves. The end result would have the...

    Leaf spot - identify

Do you know if it came enriched with ferts? Some have a couple weeks, but maybe yours didn't, which might explain some of the deficiencies we're seeing. Damaged leaves do not repair themselves, so look at the top growth. I'm thinking you need to start adding nutrients.

Should i be concerned about these roots?

You might want to do a flush, fill with cold water, and then keep that water below 70. Don't overfeed, and make sure your pH is in the correct range. Water temps are really important for roots. I keep mine around 68, and go entire grows without a single flush.

I remember reading about UV for pest control, years ago. I haven't really heard anything about it recently though.

    Need advice on the setup

    Need advice on the setup

Quit trying to make it more difficult for yourself. What you need, in order to grow great plants, is practice. Nothing will increase your yields more than experience. After all that, then try experimenting, when you'd be able to compare yields against each other. Stick with the basics...

    Need advice on the setup

No, plants have plenty of practice developing their own roots. They don't need any help. Clones are where you want to look at rooting hormones.

    Need advice on the setup

If you get five seasoned growers to agree that it's a good idea, and somehow increases potency, then sure. But you won't.

    Need advice on the setup

It does absolutely nothing, and you risk mold/bud rot developing due to the high humidity and not enough heat to evaporate some of the moisture
