I will do a little looking into your leafs. Is that on a lot of them or just one or two? cuz It might not end up being a big deal. Imagine a 1000w at 28" is equivalent to the sun. but no matter what you use if you have hps or mh try not to go closer then 15" if you are using cfls I would do 3-4...

I think he ment for you to feed/water/feed/water. when you do that you want a 10% run off when you water so you know it is knocking some of those salts out. Don't feed everyday. you have to wait for it to need moisture before you add it other wise you will run into a lot of problems.

I do a mid flower flush too.. I think it helps keep your end results cleaner
