okay dr, I took it apart. Sadly the pins were ade of wood so I'll have to replace them, Not to happy about that. However the blade is all one, no welding.

To answer Dr.s question in the last thread on whether the tang is welded, I would have to tear it all down. Not sure if I want to because I'm pretty sure I couldn't re-assemble it properly. They did show that the sword was one whole piece forged including the tang.

So this is the sword I purchased from Budk.com, It appears to be folded and I have used it against crappy 440 stainless swords and it hasn't been dented in any way. Usually cheap made swords will have zero strength if used against other metals but this sword has held it's own for being a cheapo

The sword I got was definitely folded. I mean no one has real Damascus steel. The one I got is 1050 carbon steel, good enough for me. I'd love to own a real 250k sword made by the masters in Japan but I'd rather have 250k wrapped up in a house.
