getting water every 12 hours may be too much, make sure its very little every 12 hours if possible you can feed them the nutes when you get back home, i feed mine every week and make the nutes very weak each time i feed them

the lake water will be okay for the plants! i use rain water & water from the creek & ditch to water mine

i have a 400watt HPS i keep about 10inches away from the top of my plants, depending on what strain you have depends on how close you can have your light i did burn one of mine, it grew really close to the light (almost touching it) thats my fault though

they shouldnt hurt your plant, but i would try to kill them somehow, try that neem oil

that picture on the 1st page with the plant with just stems (NO LEAVES) what does that do for the plant? one of my plants got burned with my HPS light and alot of the upper half of the plants leaves are curled up an kinda drying out.... should i go ahead & cut all those off to help it shake...
