Yea I did both, I kept the light on and I would turn the light off. I found out it really doesn't matter if you have the light on or not. But a lot of people just do it in the dark and get the same result

Looks like a couple of the leaves are kinda twisting. I'm not sure if you can really tell in the pictures though. I'm not sure if this is a problem it doesn't look like it's doing any damage though.
