    Drying at low humidity

Thanks, weedstoner420 :-) I've just created a thread in the harvesting and curing section. Here are the photos as well:

    When to harvest?

I'm growing a couple of autoflowers, they are on day 102 (15 weeks) from seeding. One of the plants I've harvested the top half a few weeks ago, dried and the buds are in a jar now. About a week into drying the plant started to smell like hay, which I'm told is a sign of a much too early...

    Drying at low humidity

Ha, no fancy equipment here at all. I grew my plants using the sun and plain old garden soil. Probably spent less than 20 bucks on everything including the seeds ;) I figured stale air is bad..? Like I said, first time grower here, no experience with any of this stuff yet. Ah I see. Thanks...

    Drying at low humidity

Cheers, VincenzioVonHook, I will try that :) I'm curious what would be the downside of leaving the buds jarred at 45%? Do they go bad quicker? Does it affect the potency? If I were to consume the buds within the next few weeks would it matter at all?

    Drying at low humidity

In my case there would be no "re"-hydration. 45 is actually as high as I managed to get so far at all. During flowering the RH in my room was between 20 and 30, and during drying it's been 30 - 40%.

    Drying at low humidity

Here's an update on my plant. I've jarred the buds a day ago and added a temp/humidity sensor. Placed the jar in a dark room and inside the jar it's been a steady 21C at 45%RH. I burped the jar once last night and it didn't change the RH at all. So looks like I just keep this up, burping once...

    Drying at low humidity

Thanks, guys. Okay I'll jar the buds and will monitor the RH. Indeed, my strain seems to have hollow stems. Here's a photo of the bottom where it has split ends from the many snap attempts over the past weeks:

    Drying at low humidity

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I tried the cardboard box method and that seemed to work pretty good. I cut holes near the bottom and placed a fan on top to keep a steady airflow going and placed some wet tissues at the bottom. I hung up the weed on a string near the top of the box. I managed...

    Too late to transplant?

Hi everyone, beginner grower here :) I have a dilemma, I've been growing a couple of auto flowers for 91 days now, and one of them seems very slow in developing buds compared to the other. Both started growing pistils 41 days ago and I've already harvested one of them a week ago but the other...

    Drying at low humidity

First time grower, never harvested before. I see a lot folks saying that you should hang up the cut stems and dry them in a dark room with about 50% humidity. I don't have any fancy set up nor own a humidifier so I'd like to know what would happen if I dry my cannabis in a room that has a RH...

    Male plant?

    Good to know, thanks :)

    Male plant?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Very much appreciated! After having removed the male sacs last Thursday the hermie has not grown any new ones. I'll keep a close eye on it for sure. It would be such a waste to kill the plant after putting a lot of time and energy into it. This is only my...

    Male plant?

Thanks. I'll try cutting off the nanners and hope the plant can still be harvested. Is there anything I can do to try and prevent more nanners from growing? Also, should I seperate the hermie plant from the other normal plant and permanently keep them away from each other? Could one pollinate...

    Male plant?

I've been growing a couple of autoflowers for about 2 months, and a couple of weeks ago they began flowering. Today I discovered growths on the second plant that appear to be male parts. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? And if so, what do I do?

heat issue with growing in soil in pots on hot balcony

Thanks everyone for the responses! Great stuff Does anyone happen to have experience with using perlite or clay pebbles as mulch to protect the soil and roots from heat? That's a great idea, didn't think of that! Wow that sounds hot. I've read that the root zone shouldn't get warmer...

heat issue with growing in soil in pots on hot balcony

Hello everyone, beginner cannabis grower here :) My situation is that I'm growing in pots on a balcony and recently it's been really hot, right now we're in a bad heatwave with the sun relentlessly scorching every single day. Temps outside get up to 35C/95F but to make matters worse the balcony...
