    Phosphoric Acid Discussion/Clarification

Keep in mind, these "soil" mixes aren't really dirt-soil -like you have in the vegetable garden. Most of the time, they are inert mixes with a peat moss base. And peat moss is acidic. So, just to make sure we aren't equating soil (less) mixes and dirt-soil. Dirt-soil has all the little bugs and...

Seedling Appears Healthy But Leaves Bending Downwards

You cn also filter the "mud" through a neutral coffee filter and then test it. Just make sure the filter, itself, is neutral. It's not necessary. I prefer to put the slurry into a small container, shake it up real well and then wait for it to separate on its own. It won't matter if some of the...

Seedling Appears Healthy But Leaves Bending Downwards

Just for fun, take a few spoons of the mix you are using and mix it with some distilled water....let the muddy water settle and then draw off the clear water and do a slurry test. If it turns out your pH is waaaay off, then you can adjust the incoming water accordingly. Some of these potting...

    Phosphoric Acid Discussion/Clarification

I suppose it depends on HOW you water your mix. I like to water to the point of excessive runoff and allow the pots to fully drain each and every time. There wouldn't be the chance for the pH Down to ever build up. My tap water is at about 7.0-7.5, so, by itself, I would add about four drops...

    Need help any good opinions??

Run some pH'd water through the soil until you get some clear runoff. Check the runoff pH. IF you get an indication of extraordinarily low or high pH, then adjust your incoming water to compensate, until you get a runoff that indicates the pH is in a good range.. After that, adjust your incoming...

    Don't throw males out....right away!

You would think so.....but not necessarily. IF you were dealing with landrace strains, then you'd have a lot easier chance of predicting the traits. But, with modern, complex hybrid plants, you run the risk of picking up any or all of the potential bad traits within any of the lineage used to...

Wow! Very admirable results so far! Good job! Initially, I thought your setup looked pretty out-of-pocket, but you seem to have a green thumb! :)

    Don't throw males out....right away!

Another good thing about leaving the males around for a bit, is that you don't have to worry about over or under watering them. You can try different ferts and amendments. You can see how the plants respond to over/under watering and then take notes on the symptoms. Watering is such a big part...

Seedling Appears Healthy But Leaves Bending Downwards

It looks fine. Just be patient and allow Nature to do its thing. Keep the soil damp but not wet. At this point, the plant is using the food in the cotyledon leaves until it establishes a root system, so don't feed it anything except nice, clean water. If you ever see a time-lapse video of plants...

    Spots on leaves

When plants are that small, the roots are running into occasional "salty" areas or an area where there is a piece of peat moss that's a little lower pH....etc. Once they get a little bit bigger, they will lose that.

Mammoth mint white emerald green 880w

Looks like a cool light! I'm waiting for the next big trend to hit -that being lights with separate channels for all colors. Until then, I'll stick with the lights I have.

    Trim Jail is Hell

Yeah, it's kinda weird. I remember when it was SO cool to get a big cola bud/stem -as opposed to the ultra-efficient trimmed buds of today. It's really just the result of when things became commercial. No one wanted to pay for stems and extraneous leaves.
