    Flowering a hermie

Very interesting OldMedUser! I've found that when growing big plants outdoors that from seed usually does better than clones. I figured it may be because of the tap root??? I've grown my own regular seeds a couple of times and find it very rewarding! The 1st plants seeds I harvested, i decided...

Lol In your experience ttystikk, did you notice any yield difference with LEDs and HIDs??

I thought with LEDs they didnt cover such a large area but penetrate further into the canopy as the wave lengths are more direct or some shit? Also thought this to be the reason the lower buds are generally more dense than with HIDs?

In my situation, having less heat would be great! I have 4 600w hps in flower room so had to get cool tubes to keep the heat down! As youd know, cooltubes arent the most efficient way for the light to penetrate through to the plants! So being able to remove the cooltubes would be a plus in...

    Flowering a hermie

If you want a few seeds only, i would recommend carefully removing him far away from the ladies and getting a jar, very carefully put some pollen out of one of those balls into the jar. Close the lid. Go have a shower, change your clothes, get a paint brush and very cautiously wipe a bit of...

Yes ive heard of the silver nitrate using a coin! To be honest, i think its just easier breeding regular seeds :? alot of good growers i know dont use feminised seeds..... they claim regular seeds can yield slightly more? Saying that, i usually grow fems but last run had 1 regular chemdawg seed...

Yes i have heard that LEDs are better for smaller grows? Something to do with wave length saturation? Where as hps is better for larger grows as the wave lengths scatter more....? And im not against LEDs. I think they will be the light of the future! But i just cant justify rushing out and...

So you have to fork out and buy more LEDs to cover an area that one 1000w hps would? That'd take a very long time to recoupe the slight power saving you would get from purchasing multiple LEDs as opposed to one 1000w hps imo.

It would indeed but then he said he was matching his 400w hps yield with a 169w LED! That would make 12 ozs to a pound from a 169w LED! And id call bullshit ;-)

Thanks for your honesty budman. If you are using a 400w and getting 3 to 4 ozs a plant (presuming you only have 1 plant under your 400w hps) then i think your not utilising your 400w hps to its full potential and is not really a good comparison to the LED you are using.

How much do you produce on average from a 400w hps budman??

Whats the max true power draw from an LED? Surely would have to be 1000w or more? Guys have been consistantly getting 3 a light with 1000w HIDs!! Would be nice to be proven wrong here. Cause if LEDs produce more than HIDs, ill be changing my setup! But wont change to LEDs because someone says it...

No disrespect ttystikk, and correct me if im wrong but i dont think ive ever seen an LED grow where anyone has gotten over 3 pounds to a light??

Buy those seeds and clone the different phenos, mark the clones to their parent and let the parents flower. Choose the parent you want to keep and clone that parents clone and so on. You will find a stable pheno of the strain you want to grow this way ;-)

If you are in the pollinated room and go into the non pollinated room you can carry the pollen on your skin/hair/clothes etc. It can transfer this way...... best bet imho is to get rid of it asap!! Have you thought of cloning the others rather than worrying about seeds??
