Anyone find autos a waste of time?

I have a jar of auto nugs that look just like this one. I have jars of photo nugs too. When you find a good strain and when you develop good growing technique, there really is no difference.

Anyone find autos a waste of time?

The yellowing/spotting probably has more to do with poor growing technique. Stick with it and you’ll get the hang of it

Anyone find autos a waste of time?

I am no expert...but my understanding is that autos are still being developed, and the improvements over the last 10 years have been huge. I don't think anyone would deny that. And if the improvements over the next 10 years are anything like the past 10....conversations like this one will be...

Anyone find autos a waste of time?

I travel quite a bit. If I'm off the road for 3 months I grow autos. There's no way I can finish a photo in that time frame. Just posting that for those who don't see a reason to grow autos indoors. They are smaller also and take up less space. There are all kinds of reasons people prefer...

Anyone find autos a waste of time?

You seem to have decided that any relevant knowledge in growing autos can't be valid because it doesn't dovetail with what you already know. I'm not sure what conversation you want to have then.? For anyone who has an open mind on the topic...for a good while last year I had a stash of some...

Anyone find autos a waste of time?

I grow autos and photos. Autos are much trickier...for me anyway. If you really are interested in autos, I would stick with it until you get the hang of it. If you were unsuccessful it isn't the fault of the autos.

    Mephisto 3 Bears OG

It will heat up there in no time. I'm in Dixie. It's 82F at the moment. I grow in my garage and it's insulated. It still gets too hot by mid-June. The winter is ideal. The garage doesn't go below 65F, so the lights keep it around 82. what are you planting?

    Mephisto 3 Bears OG

Haha...thanks Matty. I'll be shutting it down in June for the summer as the temps are too hot but I'll be all over the auto section until then.

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

It's hard to combine all 3 functions (temp, moisture, odor) into a carbon filter that is only designed for odors.

    Dos-Si-Do flower to harvest

Fantastic job. Tell us more about the grow. What lights, soil, etc. I agree that she looks like she has a few weeks.

    So...you can't transplant Autos?

Thanks. My current grow is 6 autos and they are at 4 weeks from seed. I only give them as much water as they need. I'll even let them droop a little. I'm currently splitting 1 gallon of water between 6 plants once every 48 hours. I'll step that up to 1.5 gallons shortly.

    So...you can't transplant Autos?

3 weeks since transplant. Stopping the seedlings from being leggy means the overall structure of the plant is more compact, so no need for topping. Some grey spots appeared on the lower fan leaves so I checked my water PH. It was 8.8. I used a little PH down and it's at 6.4. The difference in...

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

It does. You have too many cfm to allow the carbon to properly have adequate "dwell time". Btw, Dwell time and ACH are not "concepts". They are engineering science. I misunderstood the humidity thing then.

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

You said the math doesn't line up. Please share exactly what math you are using. I'm a novice grower but my day gig is Engineer. I can promise you math is the answer to all things air movement-related. If everything is sized correctly you won't have any odor. As long as your carbon filter...

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

The thread is about odor control. Sizing the cfm of the fan to give the right amount of ACH is a matter of simple well established math. Controlling humidity doesn’t involve your carbon filter. That isn’t what it is designed for. You might need a dehumidifier.

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

This stuff is polyester filter media. Your local HVAC place will have tons of it. Wrap it around your carbon canister. It will slow the air down and give you more dwell time. It will also trap a lot of moisture. Same principle as a face mask for moisture droplets.

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

This is true. Carbon is ruined quickly by moisture. A poly-felt wrap around the carbon canister can help quite a bit though.
