Best way to boost terp and frost production organically?

It's normal for plants to yellow a little at the end, but maybe, maybe your plant was a little hungry for K near the end. Potassium is supposed to be the "quality element." I'm trying to find a nice way to do a lower phosphorus, higher potassium late flower feeding. I'm just worried about...

    logic behind photoacclimation?

The article you linked mentioned supplementing CO2, and how the plants can use more light as CO2 concentrations rise. In the article they talk about going from 700-1200 ppm over the course of the grow. It sounds like they are increasing the brightness/intensity of the lights as they raise CO2...

Where are you getting these lighting charts from? Do they not provide any other information?

    logic behind photoacclimation?

Remember that Daily Light Integral counts total light "received" in a day. In addition to changing the DLI by changing the intensity of the lights, you can also change in by altering the length of your "days." So if you give your clones 16-8 until they root, then 18-6 in early veg and...

So you get all the yield and you only use 1/6 of the electricity. Great idea!

Lava rock and pumice shouldnt be this hard and expensive to find

Outside stuff is scary, but it's worth it! Rotting wood chunks are great mixed into soil for aeration, air and water retention, and a source of fungus and bacteria. That humus layer just below the dry leaves is full of good stuff and great for mulch on top of the soil in pots. Stuff from the...

    Late stage nitrogen?

It looks kinda generally hungry. Like it's running low on everything. If 10-10-10 is what you have, I would use more of that. If you didn't burn your plants up last time you used that fertilizer on them I would follow the same set of guidelines again. Too much of any 1 nutrient at a time can...

Need Help in using Glacier Rock Dust first time organics

Be careful using too much "stuff" when you top dress. The rock dust may not "mix in" very well and you could end up with a dry, gritty, hard, crusty layer on top of your soil. Personally I would just top dress with the Gia Green now and mix the rock dust into your soil after this grow.

    Alternative for crab meal

You'll probably be fine, don't let me get you all worried. Just in case, when you mix up your soil leave some of your "base mix" un-amnended. Set aside some of your peat/aeration/compost mix without anything else added. That way if your soil mix is too hot you can add in some plain stuff to...

First time making Bubble Hash - 74G total yield!

Great write up Jonny, thanks for taking the time. I think it's really cool that you used the sticks and showed the results separately. Like a little mini side experiment.

    Alternative for crab meal

I use half a cup of Crab Meal per cubic foot, I think half a cup of frass would be OK. Is your all-in-one mix really 4-4-8? Some frass is high in Potassium, kelp has potassium and 4-4-8 is a lot of potassium. I don't know for sure that will cause problems, maybe just be aware.

Great Lakes Water only soil Deficiency? Help Please

Yes, if you have some of that Recharge stuff use it. It's supposed to introduce beneficial bacteria and fungus, just like compost or earth worm castings. I know you maybe just top dressed with the Dr Earth, which also has the beneficals so it's kind of overkill, but you're trying to fix a...

    Alternative for crab meal

I guess everything but the Diatomaceous Earth could be mixed in before or top dressed after, or both. DE has to be sprinkled on top. I guess the question is what stuff is available around you?

    Alternative for crab meal

Neem meal is stinking and might dive them off. Diatomaceous Earth is abrasive and might scrape them up. Insect frass has chitin like the crab shell does. Some bottled nutrients like "oceanic" Hydrolysate or "crustacean fertilizer" contain Chitin. There are also fancy chitosan fertilizers...

HLG 600 RSPEC, hope I did right

The light will pay for itself in 1 grow. Then you'll save $200+ per year not having to change out light bulbs. If you've been using HID lights for awhile playing with the dimmer knob on the LED will blow your mind.

Tell us about your growing style. What's in your soil, have you been feeding your plant in any way? Do you have some compost or worm castings?

Great Lakes Water only soil Deficiency? Help Please

Sure man, if you have some of that on hand that would be great. NPK + calcium with bacteria, fungus and humic acid to make anything in your soil already more available. All the good stuff.

Great Lakes Water only soil Deficiency? Help Please

If you have some compost or earth worm castings I would top dress with a cup or two of that. Get some microbes kicking! Let them do the work for you. For some quick nutrients you can definitely use the fish hydro. Then just ride it out until your autos finish and you repot. Or if you wanted...

Great Lakes Water only soil Deficiency? Help Please

If everything was cool for a month and now you're plants are having problems, maybe your soil is totally cool you've just depleted it. And it's time to fresh soil and bigger pots. A month is a long time in a two gallon pot for a plant that was already a month old. "Rootbound" is kind of a...

First Organic Grow Attempt To Be Made, Questions Thread

Organic soil for growing is usually some kind of inert "substrate"(?) like peat moss, some aeration like perlite and organic material or "humus" like compost of Earth Work Castings to provide the bacteria/fungus. Then it's amended with kelp, guano, neem, bone meal, or whatever else to provide...
