I think it's for the same reason that people get overly-concerned about light spectrum. In my experience, many different kinds of lights and spectrums will grow plants....And plants will grow with different water qualities, too. But why not err on the side of providing water with less chlorine...

I've always added coco to my bagged soil mix as an amendment -same as perlite, rice hulls and worm castings....never had any trouble using it that way. If you use the bricks, then you have to rinse and rinse and rinse it before using it because it has a lot of salt in it.

Chemdozer smells like Vick's VaporRub. I grew two beautiful plants -no issues...picture perfect, dense buds. Both smelled the same -one just a bit "louder" than the other. I didn't care for that terpene, but it would be okay if it was all I had around.
