Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Obviously anaerobic bacteria isnt the only thing that will cause a ph drop because I have none. Microbiology has made my grows 100% better. If you do some research you will find that there are a lot of hydroponic growers that use seaweed in there system with great success. I didnt just start...

    Killing Root Rot

Yeah it sure will! Bleach wills kill beneficial and bad bacteria but in my case rot alway came back. A sterile environment works but when you get root rot in a sterile environment it takes over in a hurry. I started over with bleached clean equipment and rot always showed back up at some time in...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

I figured it out! The ratio of my tea ingredients are off. As I stated earlier I use molasses in my tea. Apparently molasses is acidic. Also fungi excrete acid while bacteria excrete alkaline properties . I stopped testing the ph of my tea. Ive been eyeing my brews because I got lazy/overly...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

This is what I know so far. My ph meter is calibrated and working fine. My water temps are 65/66F. I have used these nutes with great success for over a year now so I know they work. My roots are white without a single stain visible. I use GH Ph up/down in my system. I dont have any deformed...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Exactly! My first lesson learned was to learn how to read my plants. What works for one person or grow wont necessarily work for yours because of the variables! I love this shit! :bigjoint:

Yeah experience has been the opposite. Before I would get root rot mid to late flower. I have had my best runs using teas.

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

I'm not saying this is the solution to my problem and I should just let my ph drift. However I think someone with a deeper knowledge of bennies could clarify or correct my theory. Im anxious to hear everyone's thoughts on this! By the way I would post the link to the write up but Im not sure if...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Ok I've done a little more research and I came across a product called recharge. Now as I noted I use beneficial tea regularly which is what recharge is. Now Im assuming that recharge is a little more diverse then what I use that not that relevant to what Im getting. The user that wrote the...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Sounds reasonable to me! Ill stick with my normal routine minus the seaweed. At this point , like you said, it should have no affect to the plants.

I always do complete res changes. I never top up other then using plain water to dilute the water in between res changes.

Could too much beneficial tea cause the problem. That the only other thing I can think of.

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Yeah when I first started using rockwool I had big problem because I didnt soak it correctly. But the problem was really high ph. Who knows you might be right but if thats the case Im screwed. :???: I did my rockwool until I got a run off of ph 5.6. This has worked for me for a couple grows now...

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Just thought about it! Could I be adding to much tea to my system. I make a brew a tea using ancient forest, molasses, orca bennies, hydroguard, and the root magic. I know the ancient forest has humic acid. Just a thought. I wont stop using it but I might need to drop the dosage.

I have a tri-meter that stays in the reservoir. I can see exactly what happens after each feeding. Ive been looking for them to start demanding a heavier feeding. I will keep a close I on that as well. Thanks Elvis!

Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

Oh yeah I washed the hydroton. I soaked it in 30% peroxide and I rinsed it for over an hour. There was absolutely no dust that I saw left behind. The problem has just started during the transition phase. As you can see there are no indicators of root rot. I learned how to win that battle a while...
