    Post your Soil(less) mix!

I used to use all the "Big $ Crap", soil, nutes - whatever. All that stuff was a little hard to find (in person, especially in a fairly small town/city), not to mention a bit pricey. The results were wonderful, but where's the fun in that? Where's the challange? I decided to go Organic, cheap...

    Lighting

Any old basic timer should work for, at least, a few CFL's. Just pay attention to the wattage limit, it should be on the timer, or at least on the packaging.

    Lighting

Whether you keep it on 18-6 or switch to "24-7" is probably just a matter of preference. Either way, by all means, get your ass down to Wally-World and get yourself a timer!

    PH help. PLEASE!!!

I'm all about learning new things. But from reliable (3rd hand) sources, not just someone's arogant opinion. But I should appologize to you for "Muddying the water"! So, how do the plants look?

That's a good point! I'm sorry, we seem to have gotten a little sidetracked here.

    PH help. PLEASE!!!

Too much flushing will tend to wash away at your Ocean Forest soil until it's just compost, so be careful. I have no experience with "Pelletized" lime; but if it is garden lime it shouldn't make much difference. I don't know how much you mixed in to the soil (my guess is, not enough). You...

    PH help. PLEASE!!!

Because that is the measurement of what is really going on inside the pot (where the plant actually is!). For God sakes, check the run-off! Anything you add to the soil only tells half the story. The Ph of the water can change as soon as it hits the soil. Then the plant is left to deal with...

Super Lumens last 2 weeks of flower

Use the following as a guide. Put your hand (palm down) where the plant top is, it should feel warm, not hot. If your hand feels hot, than you have the light too close.

Advice please, roots out bottom of pot

Turn 'em over and yank the pots off, take a proper look at what's going on around the sides. If you see a "few" roots -no problem. If you see what looks like a ball of white yarn, it's definately time to transplant.

can i add more dirt to the pot?

Congradulations! I don't think I've ever seen this one asked before, a truely "New" question. Yes, you can! You probably had excessive settling and now you want to "fill 'er up". By the way, it's also ok to "re-bury" a streched out seedling "somewhat deeper", to give it better support. If...

Here's What May Be A Dumb Question

Isn't that about the same thing as what I said in the last sentence? I guess I was thinking "highlight" but wrote "select", sorry 'bout that. Usually, I just go for the Edit Menu up at the top of the screen, I guess I'm not much of a "Right Click" guy. Anyway, thanks for the input!

    flowering question

Do you really need to? Or are you just being "overly attentive"? Many begginers fall into this trap; as a matter of fact, I would say that "More plants are killed with kindness than ever die from neglect".

Here's What May Be A Dumb Question

When composing a reply to a thread (in the "Reply" window), how can I "click out", to varify a reference, then "click back in" without loseing what I've already written? I've done this on numerous occations and it seems like sometimes I'm returned to the same "Reply Window" I was working on...
