    Outdoor dwc

Shouldnt be too bad, i have a post hole digger. Maybe ill try one hole and just fill a bucket with water, see what temp does throughout the day.

    Outdoor dwc

Just popped a few zkittles autos to throw out in the greenhouse. I was gonna just throw them in some pots of dirt, which im not really experienced at. Always done dwc. Then i thought, why not do dwc? Power of light from the sun combined with power of dwc root system. Should be impressive. I...

    Light burn or?

I started co2 at 1500ppm with 83f ambient, after problem started i tried dropping to 900ppm and 78f to try and reduce stress for recovery, no change. Light is a 1000hps in a 5x5. Glass vented hood, 3ft from canopy. I dont have par meter but i was getting about 50k lux at center, 35k lux further...

    Light burn or?

Yeah, i agree theres just no way it could be from lights when they are 3 feet away in glass vented hood. I tried raising ppm, lowering ppm, still continued to progress. After thinking back, its seems to me this started roughly around the time i switched to a sealed room with co2. Since then i...

    Dirt ph

I ended up transplanting into 7gal air pots with some good dirt from hydro store. Originally was in 3 gal and tried to remove as much dirt as possible during transplant. Did the slurry test on the new dirt and it was bang on where it should be, about 6.4. Not sure what was up with the other...

    Dirt ph

Doing a few outdoor this summer, actually my first time growing in dirt, always been indoor dwc. I bought a few bags of dirt, glacier gold growers blend. Really popular stuff around here (montana, flathead valley), everybody seems to swear by it. Started a few plants in pots. They are doing ok...

    Light burn or?

I Will also add that my roots are very healthy with consistent growth. Im really stumped here. One thing ive learned over time is how difficult if not impossible it is to diagnose and treat a deficiency/excess of a specific element. Even if you know what the element is, the cause for that...

    Light burn or?

Both are excellent. Chiller set to 68, large commercial air pump.

    Light burn or?

Growing 4 plants in dwc. 3 plants same strain, different phenos, plus one plant completely different strain. Plants are pretty large and 2 weeks into flower. 3 weeks ago or so i noticed a couple leaves here and there getting some burned edges, nothing bad. Took the nutes down a tad and stayed on...

Always feed heavier if ec drops?

Yep, i fought the humidity battle and eventually got sick of it. like you said, 20% in winter. I had a humidifier in my 5x5 room meant for a 2700 square foot area pumping 6 gallons of water into the air daily just to get the room up to a whopping 40-50rh which is still terrible. On top of that i...

Always feed heavier if ec drops?

Im running co2 as well, also i do have the ability to give a boost of light which they probably could use right now. Im running a 1000watt hps but my sealed hood has a second socket for running a 400watt mh next to it. Maybe ill fire that up during the stretch. They could use the broader...

Always feed heavier if ec drops?

Running rdwc, 4 plant 5x5, cultured solutions nutes, 1 week into flower, plants are happy. In the past ive always monitored ec to determine what plants want. If i feed and ec stays even over next few days, ec is perfect, if ec drops, they want it stronger, if it rises, ec is too high. Pretty...

What size dehumidifier to help reduce chances of mold in late flower ?

I jusr bought a 50 pint on amazon for 144 shipped. Kesnos brand. Has a couple nice features for growing. For one, if you cut power and then return it, it will power back on at the setting you had. This means you can run it on a more accurate humidity controller with day/night functions, etc...

    Measuring leaf surface temp

Perfect, thats what i wanted to know right there. 0.97 emissivity is definitely close enough. I just remembered back when i was into nitro rc cars and i checked engine temp with IR, there was huge emissivity difference between clear aluminum and other finishes like powder coat. Not specifying...

    Measuring leaf surface temp

Ok, sounds like just trust what i have (15 dollar IR gun from amazon). Wasnt sure if emissivity of leaves was far off what an average gun measures. I just know that you can spend thousands on other methods like FLIR to monitor leaf temp. Definitely not doing that, was just curious if theres...

    Measuring leaf surface temp

My conditions are what i have set them to. I have the ability to set them to whatever i want, but without accurately knowing leaf temp, i dont know for sure exactly what my other conditions should be set to. Theres a few ways leaf temp can be changed. Lowering RH increases transpiration...

    Measuring leaf surface temp

My grow room is to a point now that i can very accurately control all variables. Humidity, temp, reservoir temp (dwc), co2. This means i have the ability to really nail a perfect vpd at all times but to do so properly i need accurate leaf surface temp. I have a cheap infrared gun but i dont know...

Sealed with co2, do i ever need to vent?

I dont think anyone would argue hanging out in 4000ppm will cause problems. Why did you have your room up at 4000ppm? 1500 is already at the point of diminishing returns.

Sealed with co2, do i ever need to vent?

Ok. Originally i was hoping my ac would be enough to handle my humidity, but it didnt work out so well so i had to add a separate dehumidifier. Its a basement room so the slab wall and floor does a good job of pulling heat out. Even with 1400watts of hid in a sealed 5x5, the ac was barely...

Sealed with co2, do i ever need to vent?

Sounds good, no venting it is. I guess one other thing i wonder is if theres a higher lilelyhood of fungal issues like powdery mildew if you never vent. Maybe ill throw a merv13 filter on my ac just to be safe
