is my set up enough to grow 1 plant

Yeah! It's perfect for rooting clones, or any other area that is 4' long and only 3" wide. "Shoplights" (any standard 4' twin tube fixture using "regular" wattage tubes) are good for about 1 sq. ft.. But they're 4' long - you do the math.

    what if

In the first place - when the electricy goes out around here (which is seldom) it's usually only for a few brief moments; I'm talking about a few seconds or a few minutes. Any longer than that means some bonehead took out a power pole or something, which means a few hours (very rare); up a...

    Plant mover??

This sounds like a page right out of my playbook, and I thought I was the only one! The only real difference is that I use a DIY "Lazysusan", turned by a barbeque rottiserie motor mounted near the outer rim. These barbeque motors have plenty of torque (they're designed to turn a 20 lb. Turkey)...

    i need PK advice

Sometimes people respond by becomming rude assholes (instead of becomming imbarresed) when thier shortcommings are pointed out. Once they enter into puberty; maybe they will grow up a little.

Can you daisy chain brooder lights together?

Yeah, before you go cutting up anything; take a good look at what Poster #11 said above. That's what I was going to say, but he beat me to it!

What do they mean, exactly, by "6 plants"?

Ok, my county says I can grow "6 plants". Does that mean 6 in flowering stage, 6 clones (plus a mother plant), or 6 total - no matter what? Is there a legal ruling or definition that really spells it out? How do the rest of you interperate this?

What if you do NOT top you plants?

Topping (or not topping) has very little to do with the yield, at best - and a whole lot to do with maximizing the use of your space and equiptment. In other words, it's just another choice you have to make on how you want to grow. There is no "Magic Bullet" that will increase your yield...

    Feeding Your Plant With Breastmilk?

I wouldn't dream of feeding my Grandaughter fertilizer - why in the Hell would you consider giving your plants breastmilk? It doesn't make sense, plants and people have completely different nutritional needs (except for Calcium and maybe Iron - which seems to be the only sensible part of this...

here to help with any electrical problems

My question is more out of curiosoty than actual need to know, but maybe it will come in handy to somebody else. Here goes: Let's say I'm going to wire-up a "whole bunch" of small, 25 watt, CFL's (at least 10 or 20). Should I be wiring them in "parallel" or "series", or "series-parallel"? Or...

here to help with any electrical problems

I can help with this one, the bulb uses 600 watts by itself. A "typical" ballast uses about 10% of what the bulb uses, in addition to your 600, that would be about 660 watts. An "Electronic ballast" only adds about 7% to the value of the bulb; or in your case about 642 watts.

Water From The Top, Or Let The Plant Suck It Up From The Tray?

    1. If your primary concern is just about wetting the soil, it doesn't really make much difference! 2. As has, already, been mentioned (quite correctly); watering from the top, literally "pumps" air down to the root system. That's a good thing! 3. Perhaps the most important reason to water from...

    Mid-Flowering Nitrogen Boost?

Are you saying 4 tablespoons, or 4 teaspoons per gallon? 4 teaspoons sounds like a lot, just to "kick up" the N a little - but 4 tablespoons sounds over the top! And then, "every 3 days", really?
