OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

When you strike your cuttings, use a razor blade and put them directly into ph balanced water so they dont get air bubbles in them. Doesnt hurt to put a drop or two of clonex or hormex in the water. If you do this your clones will be more successful, root faster, and if you dont get to them...

    How To: DWC

You can definately hear it, I do nothing to hide it. Its on the outside of my tent. My AC and 420cfm fan is much louder. I can hear the bucket vibrating and the bubbles coming up through the hydroton more than the sound of the pump. If its the only thing running I can hear it down stairs but its...

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

I never tried the flood method, is it a pain in the ass?

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

Probably easier to keep track of different strains with the root plugs. How is that material in Hydroton for DWC?

Are you talking about the plugs, the liquid, or both?

A little help from fellow growers please?

Ah, I see what your saying. Im not sure. I know we get a paper from the power company every month showing our power consumption compared to the neighbors because we are always using more than them. Even when i'm not running high powered lights. Power spikes are the risk of indoor growing.

A little help from fellow growers please?

It didnt. Its also on a very heavy duty surge protector with a built in breaker and it didnt trip either. I don't know the gauge but the cord is 3 times as thick as one of those heavy duty orange outdoor extension cords. All cords and timers are 15 and 20A.

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

Because grow has nitrogen and you dont want to give a plant with no roots nitrogen. Actually a plant with no roots cant absorb any nutrients so I dont even know why people are using it at all unless they're adding it once they notice roots starting. Either way it needs to be very weak. I use...

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

I meant to say thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Respectfully I couldnt imagine anything easier, faster, or more reliable than my home made easy cloner. One week from cutting to transplant! Cheap, easy to make, and simple to use. You dont even have to add anything to the water if you dont...

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

If you've already planted them I wouldn't be digging them up! Just mark on the calander when you transplanted, wait until the plants start to take off, then give them that amount of time extra veg. If they take off quickly then dont worry about it. The netting on the cheap knock offs is very...

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

I have used jiffy pellets for years, even before I knew anything about hydro and roots WILL grow through the netting BUT once the roots get the diameter of the holes it DOES slow and restrict growth until the roots are large enough to substantially tear through the netting. I dont care what...

A little help from fellow growers please?

Standard 20A breakers. I ran my 1000w MH for 3 years and never even had a warm plug until I put it in a 6" cooling tube and a 4'x4'x6.5' tent. As long as I keep my tent in the 70's the cord stays cold, my tent hit 95f once and it just started to melt the cord around one prong. I probably need to...

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

7 from the last post actually. Lol. I hate seeing topics unfinished, I would have liked to known the census on peat pellets or rockwool myself. In 2010 everyone thought Bio Balls were going to be the end of Hydroton but I see everyone went back to Hydroton. Lol

OK.. Last Time.. Rockwool or Jiffy Peat Pellets?

EZ Cloner all the way! Lol. I use EZ Cloner with a couple drops of Hormex in the water and BAM! Less than a week ready for Hydroton.

A little help from fellow growers please?

It is a pain but apparently im 200w over what I should be for this size of a tent. Maybe that will make all the difference. I would love to use a closet but this old house has two closets and one has a furnace in it. Lol. That leaves one closet for our crap. We have to use wardrobes for our...

Thanks for that. I read somewhere optimal temperature for elevated Co2 absorption is 80f, is that not correct?

    bioballs

Seems like around 2010 everyone was making a big deal about these bioballs and switching to them because supposedly they were so much better and less hassel but now it seems everyone or most everyone is right back to hydroton. Am I correct? I don't see anyone using these or recommending them...

A little help from fellow growers please?

Thank you, that is excellent advice! I have this question, as my plants get larger will they absorb more light and balance out the heat? I dont think my cheap HydroKraken tent will hold two fixtures plus my carbon filter. It has plastic corners and the bar is slightly bending now. Dont they make...
