I think I'd actually hate to know what I've spent. Ballasts cost the most. Last year I bought 5 x Lumatek at €450 (bargain). Bulbs only cost me €22 on Sylvania and more for Phillips. My NFT tanks cost €150 each, got a few of those. Must be thousands that I've spent. Need carbon today actually..
