    The far red thread

Thanks for the reply. I'm finding it a little difficult to find what I'm looking for tbh... my understanding is that the driver needs to be 4v-5v output and 10w at no more than 1050mA, but can be slightly less amperage (will just run the cob softer)... Is this correct? I just can't seem to find...

Actually I can confirm that this is actually the case... far from ideal for me as I live in an area where power outages are a daily occurrence! Thankfully these power outages are almost always momentary, so I fixed the problem with the addition of a very small UPS before the timer. It's a shame...

I decided to go with one of these 730nm cobs from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361039086548?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT ...with the plan to solder it into a cheap 10w LED floodlight fixture from my local hardware store (as discussed earlier). It seems like the...

    Diy Cxb3590 2x4 help!

With all due respect this did not answer my question at all. I was simply asking if anyone had any experience of lowering light intensity throughout the grow cycle. Not trying to be a dick, just hoping to hear from people who have tried this method. Also FWIW lumens are a measure of light...

    Diy Cxb3590 2x4 help!

Hmmm I thought the general consensus was to increase light intensity throughout veg and flower (except the last 2 weeks or so), so this is a new idea to me. It seems like it could make sense though... kinda imitating the end of summer and start of autumn (fall). I am all for trying to imitate...

    What are some reliable timers?

I just found this one http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7998 I'm afraid I haven't had it for long, so I cannot really comment on reliability yet, but so far it seems good, and I really like the fact it has 2 timer banks that can be used for flipflop etc.

cheers caretak3r! Yeah it looks great and I love the fact it has a replaceable battery... in my experience that always seems to be the thing that dies first, and then it's made so difficult to replace, that it's easier to just chuck it away and buy a new one. That shit really pisses me off...

    My first CXB 3590 run...

This looks good, I'll follow along :) I'm hoping to do something similar - I've ordered some parts for my DIY build, so now I have to sit and wait...

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Thanks man. I've been reading so much my head is spinning, but it confirms what I thought I knew lol. Always nice to have it confirmed. I've ordered some COBs and drivers now... about to order the rest of what I need for my build. Thanks to everyone who contributes here - what a great...

    Matching Drivers and COBs

I am very interested in the answer to this question too... I feel like this would be about the optimum configuration for my build in a hot country with expensive electricity. cheers
