Ok, I have a few bags of mulch from lowes left over from yard work, can I use it even if its red? Or would it not be a good ide because its been sprayed? How can you tell if its been sprayed?

1k watt hps and 8 light t5. its only been cycling for about 4 or 5 weeks. lights are on flowering mode because I want to see about when the girls really start getting newts.

Why mulch? will that help hold in moisture or something?

It sounds like this is your first grow. If this is, and you want to use newts, I highly recommend growing one of the plants with no newts to be able to see how your girls are progressing compared to just water. You should do a few cycles as basic as possible, and as you learn more, advance...

Update.. I decided to take the 3 tops off the ak48 on the left. Hawaiian maoe wowie is on the right. I have them in the basement window. Can't wait to get them in the big 15 gallon pots!
