Roots coming out of the bottom does not mean it needs a transplant. I always see this on the forums. 3 gallon containers can grow pound plants. Try and get the smart pots out of standing water and no roots shouldn't pop out.

Yea even after a week drying, you can't just throw in a jar and forget. Needs to be burped multiple times a day. So yea paper bag is best bet if you can't jar cure. Shouldn't mold as long as you don't brim the bag full. Not sure about the bovida packs.
