    DIY with Quantum Boards

My plants are well on their way. The big one is a jack herer 40 days from seed already showing calyxes and a few pistils. The one in the middle is Humboldt Blue Dream and the far right is Barnie's critical Kush. Right now everything is under basic mars hydro 600. I have already received my 6...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Hey guys, I'm just investigating ways to add supplemental lighting to this fixture in the future. I've already drawn it up with a 2lamp t5 fixture that I could supplement with hortilux 660 and fs+uv. Also, these panels seem to fit perfectly in my cob fixture as well. However it seems this...

Finishing Touches - Any advice appreciated

Wow, that would be cool to space out 2 quantum boards across the 36" fixture. Definitely something to consider in the future

Finishing Touches - Any advice appreciated

Oh you know, just some of our lovely friends over on the Amare thread :) Hortilux recommends 8-16" above the canopy with 12" being optimum. I plan on running the COBs 12-18". I Will just hang a low profile2' 2 lamp t5 HO fixture directly in the center of the cob fixture. That way I can adjust...

Finishing Touches - Any advice appreciated

I will definitely be bumping up to 1/8" aluminum. As far as the supplemental lighting, there are so many options. The problem comes in when it comes to how far the supplemental lighting needs to be from the canopy for optimum PPF. I had not given the quantum boards a thought yet, but that is...

Finishing Touches - Any advice appreciated

I was thinking this as well since I opted for lengthwise supports. I wasn't sure how thing 1/16" was going to be until I really got my hands on it

Finishing Touches - Any advice appreciated

Hey guys! I am so glad an LED head stumbled across my grow journal and pointed me in this direction! I have been doing a lot of research regarding this cob fixture I will be building to cover my 20"x46" closet to replace the Mars Hydro 600 blurple that is currently over my plants. I settled...

Show your best LED grown Buds

This is the same light I am currently using to Veg these 3 while I wait on the rest of the parts for my COB. It's doing ok so far, but I still feel the urge to upgrade before flower. Hopefully I have some buds to post here by mid-April!

First Grow! ~2'x4' Closet with LEDs

Alright friends, I feel like we are well on our way to some green greatness! The babies have been topped, and I'd say pretty successfully manifolded. It's amazing how different these things are starting to grow now that they are getting a bit bigger. Blue Dream seems to have closer nodes...

Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

Exactly what I was looking at. The owner is really helpful and they are based in California so shipping is somewhat fast. He has a huge selection of the smaller CREE lamps that Amare uses in these dolar pro features. I'm just curious if they are worth the extra hassle

Oh wow that's beautiful! I've already started ordering the parts for my DIY, but I was interested in ordering some of these xme chips to supplement my build.

First Grow! ~2'x4' Closet with LEDs

Oh cool, thanks for the tip! Everything is still in FFOF, but I added the layer of coco on top so the soil wouldn't compact and the top dries faster. It seems to keep the top nice and dry, but mites sound annoying.

I think 660 is definitely the way to go since this will be for flower. The cool thing is, I can always exchange for a 420 later on if I want to veg under it as well. Thanks for the idea sixstring!

Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

I'm cutting it close on space with the sides as the closet is only 20" deep and my COB frame will be either 18" or 16" (1 cut or two) but what if I put them right in the middle of everything?

Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

Good point. This will be for mostly flowering, and I think the 300 watts from the 6 veros will be plenty for my 6 sq ft. These $1500 lights really make you feel like you're missing out on something when you build one with 6 cobs for $400

Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

I was thinking about mounting some extra heatsinks in between cobs with the 5w and 10w chips similar to the Amare. Maybe not quite as many, but I'm only covering a 20"x46" closet. The only thing that sucks is the white xl2s need to be driven @ at least 2000ma, the blue crees can take 1500ma...
