I think you'll be fine. I probably did mine worse. Fim is confusing as hell.

You might have to fix the top on the fim, its happened to me twice where it wouldn't grow after i fimmed poorly. Better off sticking with topping.

If your having the same slow growth I've had, I think our space is just too dry. Small humidifier seems to be making a big difference.
