LED will generally make your plant be shorter with more/tighter nodes. even with LED i wouldnt get much closer than about 3-4 inches.

i would dream during my smoking days, every once in a while. but i also never smoked right before bed, unless i knocked myself out by smoking 2 much. valerian root + 5-htp do wonders for dreams.
