When I'm ready to flower, I turn the lights off at 7pm after feeding them a week 1 of flowering feeding. The lights come back on at 7am. I see no need for extra dark, but the shift in feeding at the time of darkness is what triggers flowering. I begin to see pre flowers a week after that.

There are a lot of advantages to single res per plant, and I am planning to switch to that. You can move plants and rotate them relative to each other for light. You can elevate them differently to get a single height canopy - again for light. That's just two.

Hard to go wrong with NL. Nirvana has a good fem version I've been using.

Feed them until they tell you to stop. No meter needed. The plants are always the best meter. If my nutes didn't give me a suitable pH range of better than .5, I'd be looking for new nutes. Humboldt feels that anywhere from 5.5 to 6.8 is fine for their products.

I'm happy with Lumatek and like the dimmable feature. You can barely feel any warmth at all on mine.

Three 600s would be more like it. 400 is not nearly enough. I'd keep your 400 and add at least another 600, preferably two. Let's put it this way, the third 600 would pay for itself in the first grow.

I was never able to grow anything in dirt but am doing fine in hydro. Just sayin' - it's all good.

I tried to flower with T5s without much success. Lots of buds, but they were small and airy. They just don't have the penetration.

Even though I don't grow in the warm months (Ohio) I'm still having heat problems. Of course, the issue with heat is always how much cool air you can bring in (and how cool), and how well you can dispose of the hot air. My grow is in a closet in a bedroom, and of course I could solve the problem...

I don't know why you find it necessary to bump a 3 year old thread, but since you did, I'll say that Nirvana has been fine for me. I get my seeds as fast as from Attitude, the prices are better and the shipping less. I have never had a seed from Nirvana fail to germinate or sprout. So there ya go.

Make your flower room much bigger. You can veg enough plants per square foot to feed 5 or 6 sq ft in a flowering room. I would consider a 600w dimmable ballast for the flower room, and maybe a 400 for the veg room. That way you can veg with a 250MH which is plenty, but if you ever wanted to...
