Sorry to keep ranting. I was reading some other threads and people claim adjustable ballast kill bulbs fast if used under 100% This could be the reason for your bulbs dying out like they did.

When you change your bulbs it is wise to check all the screws on the reflector. They slowly loosen from vibration. I didnt realise this and my bulb melted to the reflector glass and shot fire through my vents. Good times.

My HPS are due for a changing also, using MH for veg stage right now though. HTGSupply.com (they have retail stores also) sells cheap quality digital bulbs. All companies say bulbs last forever but its bullshit. Digital ballast are expensive but bulbs are half cost.

Pointed side of seed down and hole side up and your seeds will have a way better chance to survive. Root Riot has tight holes that snug around the seed. Sometimes you have to rip the cube open a little if the plant gets stuck in the hole.

I use "Root Riot" cubes. If they dry out, dunk them in water and gently squeeze out extra water. You want them damp but not soaked. Just popped 28/28 seeds with them.

I have used herm seed multiple times and they came out female. People say there is a chance of being male but it hasn't happened for me. Desperate times call for desperate measures, but if you can afford new seed then I would recomend getting them. Reducing risks trumps saving money.

Oh this is two different bulbs\ballasts? Did the problems start at/around the same time? I work with digital ballast and I hear some kind of electric frequency when near them. Is your bulb close to or touching the reflector? I have literally started fires by letting the glass of the bulb touch...

I put in more powerful air pumps/stones and I am finding it harder to check ph. The bubbles are a slightly different ph it seems so I put it into the calm. A little shake in the water helps mine also. I think it needs calibrated because it bounces around before finding the ph and starts farther...
