    Roses vs Marijuana?

Growing roses is more like growing grapevines. Roses are woody, whereas weed is grassy. Roses are perennial, while weed is an annual. If anything weed is less demanding than roses. They're less prone to disease and drought. It grows on sandier soils than roses too.

Yeah, I know. That was a little bitchy of me. The thing is, I know he knows more than I do about growing pot, and I'd really like to hear what he has to teach, 'cept what he's saying is frustratingly devoid of clarity. Almost deliberately so... Just speak normal man! If you have something to...

    Plant Growing too Dense?

Yeah, I'm seeing the same kind of thing in my grow at the moment too, but it looks like it's strain-related. I have two Skunk #1 and two plants grown from bagseed, and the skunk (while still bushy) have stretched far more than the two bagseed plants. These last two have sat really low for almost...

Again sorry about the wavey lines in the pics. My iPhone 4 takes a great pic (more megapixels than my digitial camera) but it doesn't seem to like it when the HPS is on.

Hey OzGirl! Thanks for the input. The coco I'm using is a cheap one from Bunnings which might explain the salt issue. I know Canna coco is soaked in fresh water for quite some time to flush out the salt. Apparently in some parts of the world where they make coco coir they use sea water to wash...

The Life of a Fat Ass Cola.Lots of Pics Attached

Hey mate, I had a little chuckle when I saw you using the VB bottle as size comparison. Even though you didn't show the label, you gotta know that shit is immediately recognisable, lol. Well done man. It's good to see us punching above our weight for once. The Vic Bitter almost brought tears...

Dutch Scientists Working on an HPS Bulb with 20% Par Boost!

Hmmf! That rep should've been mine for bringing up the Dual-Arcs! Haha! ;-) I think it would be a great choice for veg as there will be that blue spectrum from the MH, which is the only really good thing MHs can offer. It would reduce stretching in prone cultivars I'm guessing. If you got an...

Red Light Flower Blue Light Veg, But Why?

Yeah, it's a neat idea based in genuine post relativity physics, but I think another poster is correct. I simply believe a lot of the blue is filtered out of the suns rays as it passes through more of the atmosphere for much of the day in autumn. Just like when the moon is close to the horizon...

Dutch Scientists Working on an HPS Bulb with 20% Par Boost!

What about Dual-Arc bulbs? I was looking at one that had a 600w HPS and a 400w MH in the same bulb! Have you tried that? You'd get blue and red spectrum at the same time and it would run on a 1000w ballast.

Ballast is fine. I just tried to start it when the globe was still hot. An hour later it started fine. Gave the plants a good long drink today. Distilled water, Seasol, Amino Acids and epsom salts. See what happens with the normal fertigation tonight and tomorrow.

I was wondering about the canoeing of the fan leaves, and I just realised what it is: magnesium deficiency. There's that sticky in RIU about deficiencies and how they manifest in MJ and bam, it was so obvious! Also, everyone says that there are Mg and Ca issues with Coco. I was sort of hoping...
