    Plant Problem. +rep for opinions

Hi, I'm what you might call an advanced newbie. I'm on my first grow & I already found the right combination of Mycorrhiza to get bigger & better developed roots. About 3 weeks ago, I started loosing a lot of leaves. Many of the leaves had some yellow in them so I assumed it was a N...

Yeah, tricombes & resin are the plant's natural protection against UV rays, so if you expose the plant to some, it will grow more tricombes & produce more resin which increases the potency. But be carefull you don't burn your plants. The light doesn't give off much heat, but your plants can get...

    Things to Know About Lighting

Thanks for the help. +rep Heat is the one thing that I'm not sure of. The plants don't take up the whole closet. There's a portable A/C, a big standing fan, a small floor fan, and some shelving in there. Plus a small unused corner. The closet itself is 7' x 4' 8". And I was thinking of trying...

    Things to Know About Lighting

Thanks for the help. +rep They make up an area of about 3' x 6', they're in 10 gallon containers. And they're bushy as hell, I FIMed each of them. By the chart you gave, two 400w HPSs would be more than enough. But I've been told by many that more light = more yeild until the clorophyl...

Your girls look good. Looks like the big one is going to need another transplant soon, and the other 2 aren't far behind. But I'd worry about the drooping leaves. It could be over or under watering, but it could also come from the roots being eaten. I've never seen a worm like that, but I'm no...

2 Important Tools to use Against Bugs, Mites in particular

The next time I get them I may try it, but I have a different plan at the moment. The petroleum oil didn't get rid of them (they must be laying eggs somewhere I can't spray, like inside the portable A/C or something), the lady bugs still have them on the edge of extinction though. And it's...

    Things to Know About Lighting

Hi everyone. I'm sort of an advanced newbie on my first grow. I have 7 moms that are between 25" & 32" and I'm about to put them into flower. I also treated the roots with Mycorrhiza so they're larger than normal and the girls are eating a lot more than normal. I have three 400w HIDs, 2 HPSs &...

Flowering out doors isn't a bad idea, but you have to keep them out of flower till the fall. If they start to flower and then stop, that's just like harvesting and then regrowing the same plant and putting it back into veg. It's called revegging and every time you do it the plant looses some...

Never heard of anyone trying it. I wonder if it would work, and if it would hurt the plants?

    1 problem, 3 questions. +rep for help

5 tablespoons per gallon, but make sure you're using All Seasons or you're not using petroleum oil and it wont kill the eggs. The $12 sprayer from ACE Hardware is a 1/2 gallon I think (46oz). Good luck, and don't foget to spray both sides of every leaf.

Anyone have experience with Mycorrhiza? +rep for help

You can treat the roots even if your not transplanting by digging 4 holes in each pot, (E, S, W, N) at the edge of the folliage which should also be the edge of your roots. Be carefull not to tear up any of your roots of course. Pour about a table spoon into each hole and cover the hole. When...

If you're going to upgrade the lights, and you're going to stick with CFLs, the I suggest this 300w two tone http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280453832330 There's a guy growing with one of these, two plants with 3 smaller CFLs under the folliage and two single bulb 4' fluror...

Do you root in plugs? Is so, which plugs do you use? And how do you air out the dome if at all?

I just recently heard something about a rooting spinner. Let me know how it works & what your averages are.

The rapid rooter cloner's OK, it keep your plugs from falling over. lol But there's no real advatage to getting a tray that fits a dome. If you're thinking of getting one of those "aero-rooters", I'd advise against them. The stems on your clippings have to be too big.

    Spider Mites! Help!

Just wanted to report my progress with the All Seasons Oil Spray (petroleum) from Bonide. I just sprayed for the 3rd time last night and I've been treating every 3 days for Broad Mites. The first time I sprayed I saw 10 mites. The second time I sprayed I saw 1 mite, and the 3rd time I sprayed I...

Nah, haven't started a grow journal yet. Just haven't had the time, plus I can only take pics when I pull them out of the room till I get a real camera. But I might start one soon if I can find the time. I used the "plant the clipping in a cup of soil & put sarran wrap over the top" technique...

Need some kind of filter for my intake/exhaust to keep out mites. +rep for help

Thanks for your help. +rep Unless it's screen printing equipment, I don't remember the message with that suggestion. Hobby Lobby has sheets of metal screening as small as 150 micron? That would be great if they did. What do they sell it as? (the name of the material)
