I notice this is in a planted aquarium. I used to work on these, and yes its OK for these plants. Of course, evolution has designed them this way. You wouldn't want to add co2 to a grow set up though. As stated above, roots like oxygen and nutrients.

word, thanks guys. yeah, after messing with my plumbing, i can definitely see why soil is easier. although i'm wondering if i'll get the same yield as i did on my first grow in hydro (5 bubblegum ladies yielded 1lb, 1oz under a 600 watt HPS). what do ya think?
