A clone is just that...a carbon copy of it's mom as it is part of the mom. Of course if the mother plant did this, it's clones will. The guy you got the plants from is a real idiot. I wouldn't trust his replacements....how much did you lose in time and nutes? Not to mention not getting...

The Rainbow was Dry Falls, near Electric city (Coulee Damn area) Sun Lake State Park. The Cut Throat came from a lake up in Okanogan. Pretty sure it was Wannacut Lake, but can't remember for sure. Lots of good trout fishing in Washington :-P

ChemDawg...yes, it can handle more chems than most. My main concern would be, roots!!! If you don't have a pretty good start on roots you should never use a fert, it will burn them up. Stick with water until you know you have some roots. Look for a little new growth first.....allow at least...
