I cant believe you found good quality soil thats nutrient free, but you can't find good quality nutrients.. Even using miracle grow as directed or half strength would be better than dissolving plant food spikes.. without revealing too many details about where you're from, what kind of stores...

Ever use molasses? You can use it through the flush too.. 1 teaspoon per gallon. Seems to help a lot of people.

Yes! The calyxes turn purple and so do most of the leaves.. Once I grew a regular ICE and a purple ICE side by side, but ended up giving the non-purple one away 5 weeks into flower to concentrate all the light on the purple one.. You will love it either way, its an amazing strain..
