Those were not topped yet when the pics were taken, I topped 1 of them after they had been flowering for around 3 weeks give or take.. I don't usually grow bushy plants cause veg time is too long. I was just kinda fucking around with these 2 ladies.. My dumbass shoulda taken pics at harvest

and I would say you don't need to take an inch off, i'm guessing even choppin a quarter inch would work. To be honest I have never measured on exactly how much was cut so I guesstimated it

I never top in veg, only take twist ties and keep tying branches down

They well all like main cola's so I topped all of them on one plant.

Here is 2 different ladies I was just fucking around with, 1 got topped around 3 weeks in after actually buds started showing and the other didn't get topped. Damn I wish I didn't get lazy and take pics of the finished product, you could clearly see the difference

Like I said, I have topped too early and fucked them up.. In fact I just fucked up some ww's cause I topped them too early, but on some other ones it is working great

Every strain I have ever grown has weighed more after topping, but I see where your coming from... OK i will reword it, every strain I have ever topped has weighed more then not being topped..
