Bucket size can be any you want, I use 5gal but grow trees. I would just use the size bucket that works best for your planned plant size. 3gal is pretty standard though.

Depends on the medium, if you use something like hydroton it could run 24/7. Any absorbent medium would have to run on a timer to avoid overwatering. Design is very simple: pump, reservoir, manifold tube (usually 1/2"), drip lines (1/4"), drip compensators, and if you want drip stakes or ring.

Usually the breeder will collect pollen from the forced hermi plants and apply it to their true females. This helps to eliminate hermi seeds.
