agree 100%. I usually continue to use veg nutes up until halfway through flowering; lowering the dose of N and upping the P and K each time. Your plants are still growing and thus still require some nitrogen.

Well if you're not experiencing light bleaching/burn I'd only raise it 2 or so inches.

Sorry, but I can't disagree more. There is such a thing as light bleaching which occurs when lights are too close; especially with HID's. I've experienced it during my first grow. Here's a pic (not mine) of what light bleaching looks like. Doesn't look anything like heat stress:

They must have been quite nitrogen-deprived early on in flowering. Not sure what caused that, but I still use grow/veg nutes during the first few weeks of flowering; lowering the dose each time and slowly introducing bloom nutes. Hey, at least trimming will be a piece of cake ;)
