Thanks for the reply, Doc. It didn't mention Manganese in the nutritional facts of my molasses, but then again you only need trace amounts...

    yellow spots

If, for example, it were a Manganese deficit (not in this case), wouldn't extra Magnesium from the molasses make this worse?

    worst grow ever

In all honesty and as a noob myself, I feel the "noob-friendliness" here (and most fora for that matter) is almost nonexistent compared to the generic, cold responses like "check the FAQ" or "try the Search function". They happen too often. It certainly stops me from creating new threads...

    Indoor Questions for Amature Grower

Welcome! too much of anything is never a good thing. You want to keep your temperature within a certain range, which also ties into humidity. As a newbie (like me) I would start with a soil grow before jumping into hydro. Soil is a lot more forgiving, and will provide you with basic...

    favourite music for your plants

LOL sometimes my girl asks me why I invest so much time and effort into my "babies" when they're just going to end up in an ashtray :bigjoint:

    favourite music for your plants

not so much music on its own. Look into Sonic Bloom. It's basically a soundtrack of natural sounds (birds, insects, etc.) recorded over some classical music. According to Jason King it really makes a difference but not that many growers are using it yet. I'm sure the vibrations of certain...

do I leave my exhaust fan on?

I have my fine wired to a thermostat, so if it gets too cool the fan shuts off. As long as there is air intake vents, you can leave it running all the time.

sandmonkey's 1st grow: NLX and BubbleGum

Well if done properly, there's nothing wrong with a closet grow! just don't forget about ventilation. probably the most expensive unit was the Homebox at about 350 bucks. You could make your own for a lot less though. I might to do so for my upcoming vegging/cloning room.

sandmonkey's 1st grow: NLX and BubbleGum

yup they are :D sugar-water + yeast for the extra CO2. hmmm let me see... Homebox, 400w HPS with ballast and reflector, carbon filter, extractor fan, digital thermometer/hygrometer, electronic timer, small fan, electronic pH tester... about 1'000 bucks.

    Finally: My HOMEBOX L!

Cool. I also have the Big Book of Buds 1 & 2 and picking up 3 tomorrow with the carbon pre-filter. But what really got me interested in Blue Moonshine is what Jason King had to say about it in Cannabible volume 1. Do you always grow from seeds? that's pretty cool! I started with clones for my...

    Finally: My HOMEBOX L!

Well I'm not really having height issues at the moment, and I've read somewhere here that it's more effective to have air sucked through the filter rather than blown out. And thanks for the carbon pre-filter tip. I went to my local grow shop today to pick some up, but when i got there I had...

    Are grow tents any good?

well I did 10 for my first time, but will probably do 16 next. I now have one row of 4 and 2 rows of three, so there's no reason why I can't have 4 rows of 4 next time.

    Taking pictures?

You can always do slight adjustments later (I just uses Apple's Preview app to do minor editing like exposure, contrast, saturation) but of course it's better to get it correct when taking the photo.

    Taking pictures?

Play with your temperature and white balance settings. On my smaller digicam (I also have a D-SLR) there is a white balance option called "Tungsten". This seems to help with removing the reddish cast from my HPS. what kind of camera are you using?

overload of nuts right befor harvest?

Heck no. If you're a commercial grower then its irrelevant, but otherwise you're just destroying IMO what could be really dank bud. I hate it when i come across douja that looks and smells great, but once blazed, they taste like shit and burn poorly. It's one of the main reasons why I started...
