cables in water, that is an interesting thought since you probably want to keep a sealed water setup, cables in them might be a bit complicated jugs of water will tend to even out your temps, reduce the highs and raise the lows but the heating cables if adjusted properly should keep a nice temp...

sealed containers won't affect your humidity, seems like you're making progress the cables sound good, they may be just the trick you need
