Hey, if I were you I would get a 400w digital ballast (allows you to run MH for veg and HPS for flowering) but if you choose to just flower with HPS then it might be 160$ - 200$ depending on where you look, correct me if I'm wrong someone.

There are some great setups on ebay, I just picked one up for about $300 shipped (1000w light system with everything needed, ballast + timer too)

I'm sure others can help you with much more specific answers, but ask around when you're there along with the help of people here. Visit the shops and ask where you can get seeds, etc, best strains, I'm sure locals with hook ups will help you out.

If you can get an HPS system. If such systems are hard to find where you live (like me) I'd probably not get dollar store just because CFLs lose luminosity over time, and these might (would make sense) degrade alot faster. If they are REALLY cheap, and you only want one or two plants then it...

That looks pretty sweet, I like the growing part, Also If you wanted a cheaper/less powerful option you could go with 400w (depending on how many you grow) but if you can vent the heat then 600 is better

Are you living alone? It could also be a few things like lights, pc, older fridge/washing machine, heat if your on electrical or a/c. Not sure if any of these are applicable where you live.

One 400 HPS light will be enough but get a MH light too :)
