LED Thread regarding stalk weight difference between LED & HPS

Lack of needed light? As stated above, an HLG 600 QB puts out higher ppfd than a se 1000w hps. Where is the lack of light?

Pre registration for the greatest party cup grow off of 2018

Sorry to hear it. I had to drop out as well due to issues with my main grow and it bummed me out quite a bit. I'll be better prepared for next year! Hopefully see you there.

Pre registration for the greatest party cup grow off of 2018

Thanks! She really blew up once I got her in the 1 gallon pot. Hasn't been fed yet other than an extremely low dose of kelp meal in her last watering. I'm surprised at how fast the growth has been considering she has been under 12/12 from the start.I'm thinking she may end up in a 3 gallon pot...

    Newbieeee

I was always able to avoid bottle feeding until a few weeks into flower by transplanting. I would start my seedlings or clones in either FF Light Warrior mixed with perlite or Happy Frog mixed with perlite in a solo cup. Once it was time to transplant I up pot to a 1 gallon with a mix of 1/3...

Pre registration for the greatest party cup grow off of 2018

Morning everyone. First off, sorry to hear about your setback @OliveDrabGreen. Best of luck getting dug out and hoping for a quick recovery from it. So I dunno who saw my post a few pages back about having to pull out of the comp, but I've been continuing to watch the progress everyone and...

SCROG: many plants vs few plants - pros/cons

A 1x1 is a super weak scrog. I personally have filled a 3x3 ft tent with one plant many times in scrog

    Leaves not fading after flush?

Only 3? Damn man, how did you keep the dinosaurs from eatiing your crop? Haha. My first grow was in 93 or 94 and I feel like I've been doing for ever.

    First time grower HELP

I have a 135w 288 QB from HLG that is absolutely crushing a 2x2 grow space. I think people who say a low watt grow isn't worth it just are not familiar with the efficiency of current gen LED. Hell, an HLG 550 pulls just over 500 watts from the wall and puts out higher ppfd than a 1000w HPS.

    Leaves not fading after flush?

You and me both. I honestly think its partly that people are unwilling to break with what they see as gospel, partly a misunderstanding of what we mean when we say flush.

    Leaves not fading after flush?

That's also one of the things I really enjoyed about rDWC. I could really fine tune the taper. You can see the results of any change in feeding very rapidly and if it looks like the taper is too fast or too slow you can immediately adjust. It's also why I'm working to master organic, water only...

    Leaves not fading after flush?

Here is where I agree with the pro flushing crowd to a degree. I think that excessive feeding at the end (especially N) can change the flavor profile of any fruiting plant. I just choose to avoid this my slowly tapering my feed down in late flower so that I end up at about 1/4 strength a week...

    Leaves not fading after flush?

Ding ding ding! This is the whole thing in a nutshell. Aggressive 'flushing' is essentially just getting started on the curing process while the plant is still alive. The reason people think not flushing creates nasty buds is largely because they don't realize that if you feed til the end...

    Leaves not fading after flush?

I'm going to say this one more time and never again on this forum because it's exhausting. When you feed a plant in flower you don't end up with "buds full of fertilizer". There is a very specific set of internal processes that allow particular ions to be used as a source of fuel for the...

SCROG: many plants vs few plants - pros/cons

Scrog is all about maximizing the output of each plant. It is very often done to compensate for strict limits on plant count. That being said, you could definitely run, for example, 2 or 3 plants in a 3x3 ft scrog rather than 1. But too much beyond that and you aren't really even scogging...

    Watts from wall (led)

Listen to this. I have fucked up some beautiful harvests by drying them too fast. Do everything you can to slow the process down a bit. I've found that for me 10 days is the minimum I shoot for for drying. Any faster and you will see a serious decline in the smell and taste of the finished...

    Watts from wall (led)

The 260 would do extremely well in a 3x3.

    Watts from wall (led)

Ppfd is a useful indicator. But essentially, you want to look at the efficiency rating of the diodes used, the efficiency of the driver, and spectrum. The less energy that you waste on heat and unusable spectrums the less total power you need to produce the desired ppfd
