Trimming useless leaves from the bottom of the main stem is considered lollipopping. The idea is that the plant will redirect energy to other useful parts of the plant like larger fan leaves and flowers. Some lollipop the lower flowers as well to focus on the main colas.

In my first tries, I started flushing a bit early. Still got decent yields but now I like to feed until late week 7 and then flush for week 8-9 for a bigger, riper ending. With a long enough flush you should see those fans brown up and clean all the available nutrients from those leaves.

Yes, you should change to 24/0 for the most growth during veg. Makes a huge difference over 18/6.

I use Iguana Juice grow and bloom as base nutrients. They keep things healthy and green throughout. I like that the are organic too. You can buy them in smaller sizes on ebay, before you decide to pay $40 for quarts of each.

Hot air and smell sucked into carbon filter, filtered through active carbon removing odor, then odorless heat is directed away from your grow space via ducting. Warm air goes wherever you duct it.....attic, out of room, maybe a window.

I assume you are feeding grow formula? Time to switch to half grow and half bloom formula. Then gradually over to bloom only by week 2 flower. Transition. You can switch you lights to 12/12 but transition the nutrients. Dont be a noob and just go all bloom nutes.
