My initial thought after reading your post is that you are severely over-complicating things. For a first grow, I think your feeding regimen is a little overwhelming. Keep in mind I'm fairly new to this myself, but I think that too much love and attention for your plants isn't always helpful...

One of the best, cheapest pieces of equipment I've bought for my garden was a $7 soil moisture meter. It's made it so much easier to know when to water. No more guessing and over/under watering.
