    Calcium / magnesium deficiency?

Yes, but the daily watering only started a few days ago when I discovered I needed to be more frequent in coco.

    Calcium / magnesium deficiency?

Got a brown spot on the two lowest leaves. Plant is 23 days old and browning appeared a week ago. She's growing in 70 coco / 30 perlite. According to this guide, it looks like calcium or magnesium deficiency. Anyone confirm this or offer alternative reason? I did give her a little cal-mag...

    Fungus gnats and coco

Interestingly I've been having a chat with the guy from the Mosquito Bit company who literally just said the same thing. He says that putting the bits into a stocking and then into the water is a good way to wash the BTi and keep the water clean from the bits of cob. EDIT: He did also say that...

    Fungus gnats and coco

I tried controlling watering her but this happened. In coco, she doesn't like being dry even for a short time, and it does dry out quick (2 - 3 days). Gonna need to find another way.

    Fungus gnats and coco

Just in case anyone was interested, earlier I queried the toxicology report for the Mosquito Dunks with the company who make them and their rep confirms that produce is 100% safe to ingest. His words, not mine. He also said this: "The insecticidal toxins (in the report) refers to the bi-product...

    Fungus gnats and coco

In my first grow, I did this too but I think I just did it too late. The stickies actually on top of the pot did catch a load of gnats (on both sides of the paper) but I think by the time I did this, I already had an infestation of them. Mind you, i'd rather that than aphids or other...

    Fungus gnats and coco

I caught hundreds of them on yellow stickies last time. I think though, they'd already laid eggs before I got them in the tent. This time, they were in the tent before the plant was, and the tent was cleaned out with isopropyl alcohol thoroughly before I started. Bloody hate them - the thought...

    Fungus gnats and coco

Thanks for the feedback - yeah, they aren't a problem yet but I can see it coming for sure. That's genius - I'll definitely be doing that! I did try a top layer of perlite but the gnats here didn't seem to be bothered by it, even when I made it a really thick layer they were still coming and...

    Fungus gnats and coco

I just had a look at the toxicology report on their website and have queried them about an active ingredient which they dont seem to be clear on. Will keep this thread updated if they reply.

    Fungus gnats and coco

Ah I forgot about these. I shall get some just in case - does anyone happen to know if they are harmful to the final product in terms of ingesting / inhaling? I've already got a load of yellow stickies in there but no adults caught yet, so think i'm okay for now. They aren't a problem yet...

    Fungus gnats and coco

Hi all, On my first grow in soil I had a massive battle with fungus gnats. On this grow 2 weeks in (only one plant), I'm already paranoid about the little buggers coming back but this time I'm growing in 70% coco / 30% perlite. Because i'll be feeding daily in this medium, i'd imagine the...

Appreciate it fella. Every time I get issues with my plant, my heart stops for a bit. Glad there are folk out there who can help.

    Droopy leaves at 2 weeks

Thanks for the replies! What I was doing over the last week was waiting till the top soil/coco had only just dried (NOT to an inch deep) and then watering about 200ml with no run-off. However I will now water daily with run-off. Does feeding continue like this through the life of the plant...

    Droopy leaves at 2 weeks

Since yesterday the dropping has stopped, but I noticed that the two lowest leaves are more yellow than the rest. From forum searches, this looks to be Nitrogen deficiency or something - but if I can't water her, how can I fix that? Is it even a nitrogen deficiency? The attached photo doesn't...

    Droopy leaves at 2 weeks

See, this photo was day 4 since watering and she was super droopy already. I did water today but only cos soil was completely dry and she was drooping so I assumed she was thirsty following a massive growth spurt. 8 extra leaves in the last few days.

    Droopy leaves at 2 weeks

Hi folks, Wonder if you can take a look at this picture and tell me what's likely to be wrong. This one is 14 days since planting. She seemed happy enough, then this morning I check in and find her drooping like this. Fairly sure I'm not over-watering - been careful of that. She's under a...

    Germinating seeds

I've only germinated 4 seeds but they were all successful and sandwiched between damp paper towel in a dark, warm place. Just make sure to keep the towel slightly damp (never let it dry out completely). The fastest one I had germinated in a day. The longest was about 4 days.

    Trim leaves or not

I took off all the fan leaves before drying. My plant was fairly small and took about 7 days to dry.
