Yup since i have mounted fluorescents, i needed a good way to open up the bottom space for better airflow, and raise/lower as needed. Works fairly well for what it is. I mean, the plants seem to love it ahah

Topping, LST, SOG etc... Lots of tricks out there to maximize yields. When a plant grows natural, untrained, it tends to have more of a christmas tree shape, making one large cone and bunch of small flower buds, training the plant will bring those...
Maybe for a seedling, and small veg, but it is high temp (more blue light), so it doesn't have the red spectrums flowering prefers. For a micro-grow, like inside a cabinet space it would work fine, I think for a single plant veg. But come flowering, you will want something lower temp for red...
