I would assume all the charcoal would be settled at the bottom due to gravity, leaving the top half or so of the filter empty and forcing most of the air out of that part (the path of least resistance) before it ever reaches the charcoal bed. Why would you want positive pressure? You need air exchange, not air buildup. If you just don't want the sides of the tent sucking in on your plants, wrap some yarn or thin rope or tie-down straps or whatever around the entire circumfrence of the tent poles (under the tent) in a couple of spots...

I don't think you want to push air through the filter. Might work with some high quality filter builds, but I think most of the cheaper filters would be blowing charcoal dust all over the place. I haven't tried it or anything; and I could be wrong, but I've seen a lot of filters that shit...
