I've seen a lot of successful grows in the rubbermaid 32 gal trash cans. I prefer square containers due to the extra surface area for oxygen exchange. The bigger you go the more air is needed for proper oxygenation.

I don't think you will have a problem with bushy plants. I top and fim mine before they get to the scrog net to help them bush out and reach the net more evenly. Here is a pic of a particularly bushy plant I have topped and fimed.

I'm interested in the difference between cree and what you are calling epi-whatever. (Epistar?) I am new to the led market my Apollo's run the epistar. Would a fixture running cree leds perform better? Has anyone done a side by side comparison grow or is this just your opinion? I would like to...

I ordered from herbies in December. I paid for insurance, they decided to send it untracked due to the seizures. Mine came in fine in about two weeks in a creativity packed package.

I like dutch master gold in hydroponics. I use dutch one, zone and silica for vegitive. Flower one, add .27, zone for flower.

Leds are great, 5w chips run hot. I prefer 3w chips. My cheap "China junk" produces no heat just fat buds. If you can keep your heat down in the pc case with that light it's great for your application but I suspect you will be fighting high temps throughout your grow.

Not a fan of 5w leds. They burn hot. Good luck with the solar flare though.

+1 on the bucket head. That's what I use on my dwc. I originally plumbed a t with a valve off of my pump but the bucket head is faster.

I like ona as well. I built a simple dispenser. Just add water and a scoop of ona gel and your smell a flauge is on lol.

It's all preference, I prefer top shelf over high yielding strains. I'm in the process of growing rare dankness og ghost train haze #1 in a scrog grow.

Nice grow! I'm doing something similar in a smaller space. I feel scrog is the way to go so good choice. Here is a pic of my rdwc scrog led closet grow.

I build these out of pvc and bright cord. I don't glue anything so it can be broken apart if needed.

I suggest the Apollo 300's from amazon. You could get 2 for under $300 they would definitely cover your area and and produce no heat and they pull 170 watts ea.

You should definitely go LED over cfl. I would suggest to buy the Apollo 300's amazon offers. Most of the LEDs in the 300w size pull 170 true watts and cover about a 3x2 area. I would buy whatever you can afford grow under it and expand your grow area as budget allows.

Yea my local grow shop tried to sell me kind leds for 1200 ea. I need 8 for my upcoming tent. I'll look into the a51's thanks for the advice.

Apollo's are 8 band including white. But there are a lot of great led options out there. Next to the Apollo in the pic I have a no name 11 band China made that performs just as well but the Apollo is just built better.
