Sounds good, but don't sativas take longer to flower? I'm really looking for a strain with a flower time ending in early October.

I live in eastern Washington state and I have a license to grow legally. Next year I want to start a outdoor grow and I'm looking for a strain the will flower well up here. It gets to cold for plants after the 2nd week of October. Any advice would be appreciated.:weed:

Ok so i just built my first flowering room and was wondering about the temp. I have a 8.5'x4.5'x7' room with a 1000w hps. i checked the temp from 20in away from the light and it is a consistent 85 degrees (humidity 35-40%) is that to hot for my plants? the room itself is in the low 80s tops...

I would say you have a pretty legit setup on your hands. I myself have a pretty similar setup (a combo of CFL and fluorescent tubes)but its in a 2' x 7' closet and its worked great for me so far. as for your soil question i'm no expert but I used some soil with nutes in it (high in nitrogen)...
