Auto flower topped vs not topped

Lets be precise. LST encourages Vertical Growth along a horizontal main stem. Therefore increasing the likelihood of flowering area. It also allows you to bring lights Closer to the plants without burning them.

Auto flower topped vs not topped

LST is designed to give the lower branches access to more light. and to allow the lower nodes to be given a signal to grow UP towards the light. This means ALL nodes Become TOP Colas.... it should be renamed to (Every Node a Cola) LST allows more light to hit the entire plant improving yield...

Auto flower topped vs not topped

LST would have greatly improved yield on the plant in the blue bucket.. you're basically leaving weight on the table. from this photo i can count 20 buds that would have been the size of your branch tips. at least 10-20% improvement.

Auto flower topped vs not topped

No, By its very definition. You see LST only induces flowering at nodes already present. (orange) Topping DOULBES the amount of branches a single plant has every time you top it. (Labeled at every topping site.) Many strains only produce a main stem with very few branches. as discussed here...

Auto flower topped vs not topped

ya depends ... some strains jsut dont produce enough but sites.. so topping will increase branches to make LST more "fruitful" :bigjoint:

Auto flower topped vs not topped

I've never honestly used the solo cup method. With the air pots I go straight to pot with the seed. And cover with a clear plastic container to keep in humidity. I have a new setup Ill share once I get my WW seeds in.

Auto flower topped vs not topped

Ya, Being an old timer when many strains were sensitive to stress some strains would not recover well. But now days as long as the plants are being fed properly and are disease free you can do anything you like to them really. Ive been playing with grafting clones to different mothers with...

Auto flower topped vs not topped

I use the same method here. pinch it till it softens and droops . give a bit of support till it bulges back out. plants today are SUPER resilient compared to even 10 years ago.

Auto flower topped vs not topped

There really isn't a reason you cant top.. .some strains don't like it but they are few and far between. Ive topped/LST every plant ive ever grown with no ill affect. ive even snapped and split some branches with minimal issues. tape it up and move on. love that the aero pots have gotten to be...

    Nutrients for soil grows

If you are worried about your Coco/pearlite having life in it use a pressure cooker and steam bags like they do with mushroom substrate HERE Once theyre done steaming, let them cool overnight and inoculate them with some Great white or any other Myco product and shake them to inoculate the...

Advanced Lighting Spectrums for T5 Floro and LED

I seriously hope you dont think a "Law" of mathematics changes when you improve technology? Show me peer reviewed empirical evidence instead of conjecture and you got my support. remember even the best led's have very poor quality controls and are still "binned" according to their color, meaning...

Advanced Lighting Spectrums for T5 Floro and LED

LED suffer from an advanced or "modified Inverse square law" which leads to "fall off" of the efficiency of led to less than 30% at 20cm from the plant. Isn't science great. article from 2005. Metrology Research Institute, Helsinki University of Technology, P.O.B. 3000, FI-02015 TKK, Finland...

Advanced Lighting Spectrums for T5 Floro and LED

Actinic light is <500nm.. so i don't know if your really getting the concept. if you cant describe the tool you use, you cant hammer a nail with a banana. that being said its about the combination of fuller spectrum rather than one or two discreet wavelengths. I was never "touting" al of my...
