Just personal experence here but you should try to keep the light closer if it is not to hot. Def on the over watering again from experience i lost 2 plants that way. Are you exhausting that box your using? what type of light also 400w ?

One frig is totaly gutted no motor parts or anything else the other still has all parts and is a working frig (was till i cut a hole in it) i disconected the motor so it cant kick. IS that a issue IF i have to ggut that one i will but i would have to find a way to do it without taking the frig...

A thought on your idea you could always use a mini frig that is working for a cold air intake I would use a 3" low power 12v fan. Just a thought! I know that they are not ment to coola large are but i think you could control the temps that way would be worth a shot. Let me know if this works if...
