2 of them got a thin spot right at base and died right away

My first grow and I germanate seeds and put in rockwool cubes and its been 4 days and my plants are 4 inches tall and thin. Falling over and weak at the base. I'm feeling disgusted with myself. Did I not put the lights close enough. ?? Help?

I've read the post on here about them . I have a 4by8 flood table and a 1k hps. I was wondering if its sufficient to use just the one light on a mover to save on electric. Or if I should just buy another 1k hps. Anybody have any experience with them. Any info woul be helpful thanks guys!

I planned on a flood and drain table with pots. Just don't think it's a good idea to sit pots right on the table so the roots are unable to grow out the bottom or is it ok for roots just to grow out the sides. I appreciate the response
